Already ranking site or high end expired domain?

I am planning to start a new project and wondering what is better from these options-

1) 4 month old website which makes $50 a month and gets 20k visitors from google each month and pages index within 5 minutes of posting. Downside is that some of its content dont pass copyscape but still ranks well in google. Site has no strong backlinks.

COST $1500-$2000

2) High end expired domain which is 10 years old with a lot of authority backlinks

COST $500

Buy both. Redirect the second one to the first one. I presume it's the same niche.

And you got yourself a powerhouse with already non-embryonic site.

Also, domain age does not matter. :)
 
Second and for the rest content, I would do that if I was not in a rush to bank.
 
It's clear option #1 does everything you need. Option #2 might save you money but whether or not it'll be as effective is unknown.

I'd go for #1 and pay $1,000 USD at most. That's 20x monthly profit IF it's $50 profit per month, which usually isn't due to hosting and other services.

If site #1 is on your niche, make a deal with the owner and go after it.

Great idea, but isn't the 301 a bit risky?
 
I would recommend option too. If does not give the expected results. buy the first one and link the second one to it. As someone said earlier, you will have a powehouse then.

If you know what you are doing, then not really. I presume both domains OP mentioned are in the same niche and closely related to each other. Plus, you can always remove the redirect.
