I've found a guy locally selling his website. The website is an online advertisement board for web developers/seo experts/writters/programmers offering their services.
He's asking 1600€ for it, but I think he would sell it for 500-700€ if I would offer it, he's selling it for a long time already.
I asked for the google analytics proof - last month the website got ~17k users - 9k from social, 4k from organic search, 3k direct and about 1k refferal. The site is live for a couple years already I believe.
I've got a couple ideas on how I could monetize it : right now the advertisements are free, but there is no premium advertisement, I think I could offer such a thing by adding "stars" to the advertisements which would cost a few euros a month or something like that and bring the more premium ad's to the top for a fixed amount of time for a fixed price. There are no adsense advertisement on the website as of now, that might be another source of income (Though I don't know what kind of earnings to expect from traffic of this size, anyone have any ideas?)
another way would be to make my own advertisements and pin them always to the top where I offer my own web development services (I actually do)
Or to redirect the website to my own website where I offer web development services - But I think the traffic will decrease drasticlly in a month or so and the paid premium advertisement + adsense is a more viable way to go.
The big asterisk here is that the website and the traffic is from eastern european country and I have no idea if anyone would be willing to pay for the advertisements (as most of the people are more poor here) There are currently 600-800 ad's on the website.
Dropoff (I think it's called that) rate is around 50%. So 17k people, and 24k sessions. Anyone have any ideas in monetizing/buying already established websites?
