I purchased an expired domain on March 1st, which had about 90 backlinks. I published content with keywords that had a difficulty score of over 90 on SEMrush. By March 13th, a significant number of keywords were ranking high. I did not perform any backlinking tasks. For about 5 days, there was tremendous traffic and high keyword visibility. On March 18th, all the keywords disappeared.

Experts here are all talk and no substance. They've been saying the same thing for years about why keywords rise and fall, but only Google knows the reason.

you're generalizing because you're frustrated. And you're frustrated because you don't know SEO. And blindly believing random people will not get you far either, I know because I'm a blind believer too, and after getting scammed so many times I've decided that SEO is not for me.

but only Google knows the reason.
believe it or not, not even google know what they're doing a lot of times. This company is so big and so split (into departments) that no department knows what the other departments are doing, which is part of the reason for which their algorithm is flawed.

Anyway, you look stressed, and emotions get in the way of judgement, take a break and then come back to the grind if you're in for the long term, or find something more productive to replace SEO with, this industry is not for everyone :)

I have 300 personal PBNs consisting of auction domains, expired domains, and new domains. I own 50 money sites. I have tried various backlinks, including guest posts.

I have worked with numerous experts on SEO for two years.

The conclusion I've come to after spending a tremendous amount of money over two years is that ranking at the top is just luck.

Read about expired domains abuse in current Google update.

Because once you get traffic google sends analyzer bots, analyze traffic, if backlinks relevant, if content high quality, if DA good, if social signals present, if google analysis bot thinks that not then it will lower rank, which happens almost 99% times for new sites.

As google de-ranks 99% times so this is also an opportunity, you can do comeback by keeping google bots confuse.

Here is my suggestion, which will work if you can post a lot of content.

Prepare 100 articles, and post them in single day, then again after 3 to 4 days, publish 100 articles, share at least 20% on reddit "link type share" and facebook, and let us all know how it went.

Google hunt down expired domains after new update.
Expired domains are no longer benefit, they are reason for deindexation.
Expired domains can work, if you keep same website structure, content and you are not restoring it after long time.

I misjudged you in this regard, I apologize. I thought you're a newbie like me.

This being said, you've probably worked with the wrong "experts" :)

a lot of times, yes. But other times it's google's favoring the big dogs, and this is no secret anymore, google have been favoring authority for years and if you're not a big, multi billion corporation you'll probably never rank in tough niches that are dominated by these giants. There's a reason why everyone recommends that you do niche and keyword research to find easy niches in approachable industries...

I also requested backlinks from you, but there were no results for me.
Do you know why?

Because your website is exactly the type of wrongly repurposed expired domain they are after.

They always hated aged websites like that but right now they are really hammering down on them.

No amount of backlinks will fix that.

If you did the same thing again, March Spam update got you.

But regardless, you didn't answer my question.

ranking at the top is just luck.
Ranking at the top is Luck if you get it without much efforts.
It is an Art if you have got many websites rank on top (even for a limited period with Blackhat techniques). Undoubtedly, different tactics are employed in different situations.

But whatever it is, it is the need of every website owner as it gets you unpaid traffic. That's why website owners easily count on self-claimed "SEO experts" as well. What you have to consider is that SEO is not one time work and it is Very Dynamic. You can't stay on top for a long period with minimal efforts. You have to do everything possible to get on the top and sustain that position. An SEO expert is not to get your website on top rank but is to "keep trying" for getting your site on top rank.

Your tactic of creating content with expired domain worked for once but it can't sustain always. It has to chance someday and so you also need to try something new. If you know more tactics then you can try your own or you can hire SEO experts to do the same. If they guarantee you for rankings, then it will be a fake guarantee. Because you know it is not constant, it is VERY DYNAMIC nature.

You're right that nobody is an expert anymore because Google changed the game since August last year.

Until this core update rolls out completely it's difficult to reverse engineer what works now.

How much traffic did you lose from your 50 money sites?

The thing is that Google's algorithms consist of more than 100 points. And we cannot find out what these points are. We can only guess)
Therefore, no expert can guarantee first place in the search results. Experienced experts can only give useful advice, but there is no guarantee)
Google is too smart) this really is true))

Nothing in your post mentions any 'expert'. Since you did everything by yourself and got this result, aren't you the expert in this case.

Like in every industry, there are people who truly know the job, there are still some who don't or are just lazy.

Well, I am not an expert, but slowly learning SEO, and as per your fact, as many already say, some people might play an SEO expert role without knowing it truly, but you can't judge others who really are by practicing over the years.

You know that Google updated its algorithm recently, and it is clearly said that expired domain abuse can lead to spam and harm the overall website by not only being out of the search results but also being penalized forever.

So, before questioning, we should evaluate the reasons and possibilities.

Unfortunately, there are many "so called" SEO gurus on twitter/youtube BS-ing left, right and center. Social media is the hotbed of scammers because everyone is desperate to make money.

Anyway, there are ways to get traffic to your website without the use of search engines... this is where people need to focus on.

Some people who claim to be SEO experts might not be trustworthy, but there are also many who genuinely know their stuff.

I think the drop in keyword visibility could be due to algorithm changes, competitor actions or website issues. Monitoring performance and staying updated on SEO best practices can help maintain visibility.
