I believe they were only warning you about the fact that it is entirely too easy to completely hose your databases if you make exactly 1 wrong move in phpmyadmin. Monkeying around in there can be dangerous because it is so unforgiving if you execute a command incorrectly or click the wrong thing at the wrong time. Anyway, hope you got everything lined out

Anyway, that does suck. I try to back up my stuff once per week, and I am constantly changing passwords, etc. Get my sites checked for exploits, whatever I can do.

I've actually got a goofy Russian kid who helps me out with that now. And when I say "goofy", I mean he's smarter than I.

Yea before this I never had an issue with site protection. And you're right

most people aren't super techie programmers some of the most productive

members of this forum admit to not being "techie" but are good

entrepreneurs.

Sure I could agree with that. Maybe it was harmless. The post was helpful I

checked out the plugin and it's a good one. I need to just get a guy for

that. It's straightened out for now as far as I can tell. Still a good

experience I learned a lot very fast.

Don't take it so seriously, dude. It was a phrase and nothing about you, but a general about phpMyAdmin (and similar scripts), as dichotom pointed out. No-one's trying to be a "tough guy" or similar.

Yea it was good advice. I saw you responded reasonably I knew right then you weren't the jackass. But as you can see they're present. It's a lot of really good info here at bhw but you know there's a few people who make it their business to post stupid shit constantly. The plugin you suggested got great reviews. I'm trying it out as we speak.

@Giuni, @grav6, thank you for recommended plugins. All my website just got hacked too. Luckily I have a backup. My hosting told me to stop using direct FTP as it will reveal my password to hacker. So, I am now just using SFTP.
Update all passwords, hosting cpanel, database, SFTP, WP admin, all emails, etc. Now, I hope that I am safe.

Hi, rosepleasure. Sorry to hear that, mate. (I have a feeling your host doesn't really know and is giving the easiest excuse.) There's a "virus"/"malware" scan plugin for Wordpress too, might be worth running that on your themes. Seen a lot of Wordpress exploits due to insecure themes recently.
