All FB posts now post to "only me" by default, not everyone!

For those of you who don't know, it appears that FB just made a signifigant change:

Before you click publish for any post, you need to click that little lock that is to the left of publish and select everyone or friends. FB has changed all posts to
automatically post to yourself only - you need to select friends or everyone. Otherwise no one else will see your post, even if they go to your wall.

Everyday something new they try to stop us with, and everyday a new method comes out. Wont be long till theres some type of workaround.

Actually, I think it's more trying to fix the recent security issues that everyone was bitching about! And unfortunately, it affects us fb marketers!

It's not terrible, just an extra step in the process. Definitely slows you down if you don't realize that it's something you have to do now, though.

Oh man, this is absolutely ridiculous!

EDIT: Hopefully FaceWizard and FFAP will be updated rather quickly to support this new step.

Not sure what all those auto force wall postings are gonna do now, but I think it's still well alive. Currently all my pages up wont be affected at all by this.

Im not seeing the big deal, am I missing something or is it just one more step to posting a status?

its been like this for months...also i have certain people on certain lists so i can say things to friends, fam, and business connections, separately. very easy to forget this sometimes and has led me into troubles :O

What I don't understand, is even if you have "Everyone" selected in your Privacy Settings, it is still "Only Me" by default for each post. This makes no sense whatsoever; why even have the option to set it to "Everyone" in your Privacy settings if you are going to have to manually switch it for every damn post you make? Hopefully this is just temporary and FB will respect whatever settings you have deemed in your Privacy Settings. Otherwise, they might as well remove this setting from the Privacy Settings because currently it is obsolete.

Apparently, when you change it once it changes the default to everyone. So is it a one time deal to switch it over?

It's been like this for months? I don't think so, or else I wouldn't have so many Likes and Comments on the posts I have been making to my wall.

No, currently you have to set it to "Everyone" every damn time you want to make a post. I have it set to "Everyone" in my Privacy Settings, however when I refresh my profile it is automatically reset back to "Only Me" which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Okay, now it appears to be sticking with "Everyone" when refreshing and respecting what you have set in your Privacy Settings. They are apparently implementing changes AS WE SPEAK. It would only make sense to test/implement changes late at night (not nearly as much activity).

I was about to literally flip out. Let's see how things are in the morning.

It's good to hear that. :)

Does this have any affect on comments posted to friends walls and groups etc?
