I dont play much with social media automation. But my rule of thumb is to not do something a regular user wouldnt do.
Would a regular user accept 500 friend requests per day? Maybe, but not likely.

the reason why Facebook bans your account is basing on two points:
the first one is whether you are hurting Facebook,
the second one is whether you are hurting other people.
accepting friend requests doesn't hurt both Facebook and other people, so it doesn't matter.

Accepting 500 requests/day is a very rare "usual" use case - know what I mean? When you're automating, you'd want to make your actions look normal - and I don't think anyone accepts that many requests/day. So FB just thought you're a bot and hit the "Ban" button.
