All cap titles for posts.

I read an article yesterday about this, and wanted to get everyones take on it. The theory is that all caps in your titles make it stand out on what every page the results happen to fall on. Personally, I tend to agree that the eye will skip over the usual and zero in on the unusual, and even if it just gives you a hair thin advantage, it is a cheap and easy advantage to obtain.

I also saw something similar on another site about putting non-alphanumeric characters in your site title to get it noticed....same principal, just moved up the food chain I suppose.

So, any thoughts on all this?

On safelists it is done all the time. I have seen some real crazy
headlines in safelists.

Never thought about it to much on forums. I 'll try it on some
of the other forums I post on to see what the response is.

I suppose to do it without everything in caps but I guess it should be given a try as there is nothing to loose in there.

Anything unusual in the title will certainly draw more attention, but I think the topic also has to interest the viewer in order to entice a click through.

I dont think all caps is an eye catcher..Just mix between Caps and No Caps

I personally prefer titles with unusual content rather than unusual font...

Like the above phrase it makes you become curious
and pause for a minute... and that's the purpose of it,
TO MAKE YOU GO INTO A TRACE and concentrate on
the head line.


You see, your mind continuously process information
on a back ground (kinda like on a system tray).
Something has to interrupt it so that you can become
aware of other things.


For example...have you seen a product on clickbank
called peal away? That thing makes you curious, right...
it interrupt your experience.


Or Haven't you visited the mall to buy some tennis
shoes only to find that you also need a pair of socks?


So, the whole point is to interrupt your world and tell
you LOOK this is what you need to do.


Ok let's go back to the main point...


I've used this thing on several of my title tags' sites,
to make it stand out. I first came out with this trick
(3 years ago) when I learn that google love Craiglists
pages, they are indexed fast before the links are disable.


So the idea was to make sure during that time (when
links are working) I get as many clicks as possible so I
put some weird characters to catch the eye of a visitor.


You will find the same technique used on clickbank.


Here are some of the characters you can use...(from bluehat)

^ ¢ £ ¤ ¥ § ¬ ° ± º ø þ

Also you can ===> ~~~ ^^^^ and the list goes on.

In my experience I've seen that google love them
but MSN are kind of mean on these characters. Just
think outside the box and test.
