Aliexpress to Amazon dropshipping

Hey, I have some questions that are unclear to me and was hoping that someone would help me out in this topic. So I know that there is a method to deliver products from Aliexpress for cheaper to Amazon warehouses in US but there is an idea that popped up in my head one night. What if you could do that without buying the products from AliExpress, but as you get sales you just order them and send them to the address that the client gives you. Do you guys think this is a possible thing and it would work out. Because it doesn't require money to start, since Amazon already has a lot of traffic so you don't have to pay for ads to advertise your products and when people amazon just takes a percentage of the sale. If this works out it would be a gamechanger in the dropshipping world. You could get products for way cheaper through Aliexpress and you could sell them for 3x on Amazon or maybe you could sell them cheaper than the other products listed on there so people will think this is a steal.

Please inform me if you have any solutions to this since I thought of this last week but still haven't tried it out. If there is someone that could possibly help me with this we could talk in private about this in more details. Thanks for listening and please drop your thoughts!!

That is a good point but there are other suppliers that have better quality products for a slight increase in their price but offer better quality. And also the shipping time is better, also you can choose products which are supposed to arrive to a certain place in a way shorter period of time. The idea itself needs a bit of adjustment but I think with the right tools and ideas it might become a really good one.

This idea was workable in 2018...we are almost in 2025, this kind of method is very outdated
 
You need to consider how the extended shipping times from China will impact customer satisfaction.
Don't forget that most customers on Amazon expect 1-2 day delivery so a 3-4 week delivery is not acceptable to most customers and could lead to negative feedback.
Keep in mind that according to Amazon TOS you need to be the seller of record on the customs documents and all of the paperwork which ships with the product.
 
Not a good idea
Amazon buyers are very impatient
They don't want to wait for weeks to receive their product
Try Amazon FBA if you want to use China + Amazon, at least your products will be quickly delivered
 
This is nothing new, some people became millionaire from this years back. If you try this today, you will most likely lose your account in a very short time, it's not sustainable.

The method worked in the past, but will not work now
