I was offered apple products on alibaba, They say it is the same as the apple products and even have the apple logo on them. I would be buying through escrow.

Is this safe, what is up with this?

Thanks

If they are fake and you are cool with that then go ahead. If however you are after the genuine product I would recommend being very cautious, perform as much research as you can about the company before placing an order. If it is a large order I would have a 3rd party visit their factory and provide a report. When ordering anything of Alibaba you have to be very specific with what you want, right down to how you want the items to be packaged and labeled (as in made in China - Gross weight etc.).

Now you are giving him the impression that there are authentic Apple products to be bought of Alibaba - and so cheap, too !

If you are talking about fake iPhones and iPods, the quality and functions are nothing like the real product. They may well look like an exact copy, but the do not function like one.

Yeah that is true, my bad. Sorry dude, don't buy em! I have used Alibaba for fitness equipment.... off topic but I found some really great suppliers on there with due diligence.

If I were to order iphone 5 cases with a brand name to them. The brand name is lifeproof. Is there anything illegal with buying them from the chinese wholesalers and then selling them as lifeproof iphone cases?

And yes, I am a newbie and I know nothing, I already know that. You have all be in my position and I am asking for advice. Thanks

If you are OK with them being fake, there's still the issue that they will be seized by customs if they decide they are fake. I have not imported anything like this before, but a quick search of some of the importing forums may yield a lot of useful information.
I wouldn't recommend importing them but, if you decide that you will, I would recommend starting with small quantities and not risking any amount of money you aren't willing to lose (due to customs, dishonest seller, etc). Good luck!

There are dozens of suppliers that sell generic brands on there as well, maybe you are better off getting a generic brand as opposed to a brand name. I mean it is for a iphone case, I personally do not care about the brand name of my case. Just a thought. Check out http://www.aliexpress.com/ it is affiliated with alibaba but the sellers have feedback scores and you can get smaller amounts to start you off with.

Totally agree with UncleMike, Id never by any brand named products from their, Apple,Beats and all brand names from there are 99%-10% of the time replicas.

I think most of the apple-related stuff on Alibaba is just OEM or generic things like chargers, USB cords, etc. They aren't actual apple products, but mostly accessories.

100% fakes. (I am familiar with Alibaba) There is also a high risk that the good will be confiscated. I would stay away from big brand goods from China. Better try to find unknown quality products. If you need help, PM me. I am in China.

Also guys take note it is hard to compete utilizing the websites like Alibaba.
Find a personal wholesale supplier. You will find out the prices are cheaper and more care and attention is paid towards
you with personalized service.

Good luck getting through customs! If they see ANYTHING that resembles any trademarked brand, they will destroy it at your expense. Trust me, they are rough. (If you are in the US).

Agree 100%! But do NOT go looking for "brand name" products. Like that other guy said, most people don't care about what brand their case for their phone is. Some of the companies on there allow you to buy samples before you buy a large order. So def take advantage of that too.

And this is by far the best advise you will find when it comes to alibaba and buying from there.

For people with little experience it's a nightmare to deal with "Carmen" & her fellow salesgirls. You may get ripped and/or receive faulty / wrong goods. Prices are way to high since you will not be able to weed out the brokers and "wholesalers" that shack up with 5 other wannabies in a 20sqm office in HK, each armed with a phone/fax and a desktop and a directory.

Find someone with a western background who actually lives close to the source and strike a deal. There are at least 5 guys here on the forum that can do just that.

I got something from Aliexpress directly through paypal, opting to skip aliexpress because they would not accept paypal. The seller feedback was good, so hopefully they are legit. The seller said they would ship it the first or second day and today is the third day and it still has not been shipped. Hopefully I get backed up if they are running are not serious.

I will give it a few more days and see what happens.

If anyone has products at a good price PM me.

Just find a cheap phone case supplier and do your own custom art work for it through them and sell them online to start with (or in your area). I kinda did this to get a feel for the market and get some feedback on Amazon and eBay. Make the art work unique and people will buy them. Hope this helps dude!
