Alias Google account vs. Fresh account - Please advise!

So, 10 years + ago, I’ve created a Google account under an alias. I use this account (on a daily basis) for my private browsing, YouTube watching, Gmail, etc.

I’m now planning on creating one or more (faceless) YouTube channels I hope to be able to monetize in the future.

It’s really all white-hat and I’m aware that it will require time, patience and consistency to pull it off.

The question I’m now facing is:
- Should I use my aged (alias-) account and change it’s name to my real name, in oder to use an aged account, or …
- Start with a fresh account, in order to not trigger any suspicion from YouTube, by changing the name of an existing, aged account?

I’m suspect there might be pros and cons to either course of action …and I’m hoping that some YouTube veterans might chime in with some fact-, or experience-based advice.

Thanks in advance!!!

Cheers,
Mike

The aged account is lying idle so you should use it. It will not make much difference but if you are already having an aged account, you should happy with the trust it comes with for an YouTube channel.

Thanks for the reply!

Isn’t that “trust” flushed down the toilet the minute I change the account’s name?

At that point, the only thing that may destinguish my account from a purchased, aged account, is probably the fact that Google will see that there was activity on that account for 10+ years. Hope that makes enough of a difference.

I am also using aged accounts, but 1-2 years old. There are no such research, but I believe it can make some difference, especially if it was used all the time.

Just use your old account as it make more sense . It will not be an issue just change the name to your name and so on to match

So, I learned the other day, that the actual NAME a Google account is associated with cannot be changed.

All that can be changed is the Login Name and the Info on the “About Me”-page of the account.

I could change all of that to my real name, but the (alias name), and with it, the e-mail address would persist.

I’d like to know if this will present any problem when monetizing the account with AdSense for YouTube?

Thanks for all your answers so far!

I’m assuming some branded YouTube channels use their brand name with the “About Me”-Info, but registered their account to their real name?

Is the AdSense for YouTube registration a seperate thing, maybe? Will I be okay if I just provide my real info there?
