Hello everyone, I've been following the forum for a while and I've just registered...I'm a seo and I would like to have an opinion / feedback on a penalty I took on 2 of my websites.

here are the symptoms:
>with the command site:domain.com Google displays 5-6 results
> by searching each url with site:url I find them well in Google (+100 urls)

the site has gone from several hundred visits with positioned keywords to almost nothing.

My actions:
- moving to a dedicated ip
- site transition to https
- creation of a consistent legal notice page

I don't have any messages in the Search console.
It looks like an algorithmic penalty and I don't know how to solve it...
I've been thinking about doing a 301 of the whole site to a new domain but I don't know if that will solve the problem...

thank you for your help ;-)
(of course i can send the domain by pm)

I have a similar site like yours, site: result is 4, while more pages indexed on GSC (around hundred), been like this for nearly 1 year, then I trashed it.

The site is black hat, so I ate this result.

If your website is black hat too, that means maybe Google recognized that, if not, give it more time and check what will happen when Google next big update come.

That's the way it works. They don't provide accurate info on either of those operators. They do it so you can't use it for SEO - the SEO data is all skewed on all their tools.

My actions:
- moving to a dedicated ip

That changes nothing. No need to spend $$$ on that.

- site transition to https

Good move.

- creation of a consistent legal notice page

All you need is privacy, terms of use, make sure to use those exact terms = privacy, terms of use.

The manual reviewers look for that when manually grading your site.
