I have read in many blog posts and forums this topic. ... i m really confused now.. Do Alexa ranking depends on the no. of backlinks or on the no. of traffic a website have ? ...... Any authentic answer ?...... will be appreciated ..........

alexa work with traffic. Nothing with links. Buy fake traffic few thousands, then u will see ur Alexa rank improve.

Just traffic for Alexa. Alexa rankings for medium sized sites are easily influenced with fake visitors.

Alexa depends over traffic only... even traffic from same ip also effect this.
Alexa is silly dude... check google page rank for a site.

Alexa is mainly based on traffic but it also display other information such as backlinks, keywords etc.

The main factor of alexa is the total time of the people spend on site. For example;
abc video site and asd marketing site has equal traffic. abc video site would have much more better alexa rank due to total time spent issue.
