alexa not showing back links

Hi,
I am new in SEO world and trying to get it. I have a few websites about virtual assistant and I am trying to take them in first page in google and other search engines. But I am creating back links which is not shown by alexa.OK let me say what I done already? Onpage I put all the meta and there is no error in my coding. I have selected keywords from adword keyword tool and put them properly.
Then I indexed my site in google , yahoo , bing and alexa. Now I am creating backlinks in high pr sites , derectories , addpostig and marketing sites. Nothing is working or may be take time . I am being disappointed . Can anybody tell me what else I have to do and should I try some black hat methods?

Alexa sucks, it provides wrong info, don't bother.

It will take some time for back links to Appear.
It would be better if you use any other tool to check em

suppose just check it with google?

I noticed this as well. Alexa didn't update any of my backlinks for at least a month and then added 100's of them in one night.
