Yeah seems probably the engineer and team cost is in the millions so it's losing money long term so they finally decided they can't monetize it well and to close it. Feels weird was important SEO tool back in the day it's like the internet is changing.

yes is changing .. Alexa.com was more than an SEO tool. I still remember those days of Alexa rank or Alexa Targeted Traffic.

yeah i'll miss similiar sites the most was good to get a few sites related to a tool or blog quickly

They should've shut down already. Alexa ranking became a joke and they became irrelevant to SEO since 2-3 years. They are like Myspace of SEO.

I used to use alexa a lot to know the ranking of popular sites some years ago, but then I started using similarweb and I still use it today, it's much more practical
