Alexa in 2016

hey all, so I live from a small country with about 450k population only.

I went on alexa and checked what the top ranking sites in my country are globally and then checked their advertising rates.

basically the number 1 website is ranked 5,500 worldwide and their advertising rates would make me 100k/year at least.

then i went down to rank 9th and 13th, with 38k & 96k worldwide rank respectively.

Basically I still haven't done a website yet because i dont wanna waste time on it before i ask questions here.

so here goes:

is there any way i can make a website today and get it to rank say 35k worldwide and top 10 in my country in 3 months times, in 2016 since all the ''bots'' on BHW are like 5 years or older so not sure whether or not it can be done?

also i want the traffic to be from my country, and not from usa or something else as it won't help at all..

umm, what do you mean, that's its easily achievable ? well if i could do it in less it would be awesome :P, but still, how am i gonna do it as the bots are ''outdated'' by like 5 years?
 
Depends on the niche?
If its gonna be another weight loss site, then the chances are pretty slim.
If its something unique and useful, then you could be in the top 10 pretty fast.
 
Why bother about Alexa, its a useless metric. Focus upon your keyword rankings on google.

Alexa is pretty accurate when it comes to top 10. :) OP is aiming high, cant blame him for that.
 
well basically top 30 sites in here are news portals, fb, google, yt , porn and selling market online.. so I was thinking about something about lifestyle, health and stuff like that (as i am studying to be personal trainer myself), so it would be unique for top ranked maybe?
 
Just practice good SEO with quality native links as a foundation and you should rank.

well its not a useless metric in my country as basically all their advertisment rates are based on those rankings ;)

Imagine selling an advert for 300 euros for only 10% visibily (because in same space will be 10 total adverts, each paying 300 euros) per week..

i wasnt thinking rank 10 in my country is that high to be honest, as rank 9 is around 35k worldwide lol

I doubt there are enough people interested in lifestyle, health and stuff like that for the site to be overly popular. You need something that applies to 90% of the WWW users.

well anything news related, i would never comepete as they have their own radio stations or tv stations so i need something else
 
You are looking at everything wrong.

The game of Internet Marketing is

1. Get traffic.
2. Monetize traffic.

Doesn't matter if the traffic comes from zimbabwe or the U.S. If you monetize the traffic the money will be in your pocket.

it kinda counts as if i get high traffic from anywhere else rather than my country, no company in my country will want to advertise with me as they are local businesses.. and they pay huge money rather than affiliates and stuff
 
You need to stop thinking about 'how to scam'. Find out what is more popular in your country and create website about it. Then advertise it in your country, make it popular and then local businesses will pay you huge money.

Think about creating an "Asset".
 
I am not thinking about scamming anyone, I am just trying to find a way to get high traffic fast (even if its just bots or proxies or whatever), and then start advertisements based on the traffic and start getting real traffic just because people tend to follow the flow, so if they know something is popular they tend to try / use it ;)
 
Which Country, Which Bots, Which Traffic and WTF is with Alexa in 2016. Dude, go ahead and put together a website and ask for how to get traffic for it. You will get to know where you stand.

why did you even reply if you got nothing helpful to say mate? making a websites takes me 24 hours of work at best to make it fully functioning and stuff so its not a problem at all, but putting a website online and get traffic with advertising like most people would is not why i want a website, or else i wouldn't be on BHW..
 
I can't believe on alexa site rank. because my site always top 5 in baidu, yandex and bing. but alexa showing my site very cheap rank.
because, alexa only traffic analysis by google product and some social network site.
alexa is not show another search engine analysis like baidu, yandex and more....
