According to Microsoft, the vulnerability affects a large number of Microsoft security products, including Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials along with Endpoint Protection, Forefront Endpoint Protection, and Exchange Server 2013 and 2016, impacting Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows RT 8.1, and Windows Server.

i should do the update on some of my VPS now. Want to do Linux but cant avoid window VPS.

The main reason people buy Apple products is because of the name. If you value the build quality, design or specs, you may as well get a premium windows device and install OSX on it.

Edit: Just saw you linked to the Air, of al the products you could have chosen. The specs are incredibly shitty for the price, it's too small to actually be useful & the bezels are huge. The only people I know with an Air are the ego-seeking twats who can't afford a "useful" Mac but still want to tell people they have one. Just get an Ipad & Keyboard.

I'm suggesting this based on my personal experiences. I'm not looking to game, and I'm not looking to mine, or overclock, or mod or whatever PC circlejerkers are into these days. I've got an Air that's going on four years old that has served me well with minimal issues in running my business. My toolset needed is minimal, and I can get everything done I need to do with my Air and iPhone.

I use Apple products for their user-friendliness, lack of problems, and ease of use. Could I get a more powerful Windows machine at the same price point? Absolutely. I'm not going to Hackintosh something together when I can afford the real thing. This Air is an incredible machine, can take a real beating, and I'm excited to grab another one in early 2019 when this one hits five years.

If Windows risk score is 100%, Then OSX is 20% or Less max. Still Mac rocks :)
You just can't count both equally.

I didn't mean you were ego-seeking. Just my genuine experience IRL. (I thought you had a Pro, anyway?)

Just because you can afford something, doesn't mean you shouldn't go for the cheaper option. I agree that their OS is simple & nice. I have a number of Apple products myself, but I recognise that paying £1k for a phone is stupid and OS doesn't really make it worth the extra few 100 over its competitors. However, you can't just change the OS on a phone & if you want it, you need an Apple device.

But, on a computer/laptop, you can easily install OSX in an hour or two. No matter if you can afford the Mac, it doesn't make sense to pay $500-1000 more for the same quality/ spec when you can get the same product with ease.

My HP laptop is all metal, 15 inches, EASILY upgradable and has been running for years without any issue. I have an SSD with OSX installed from when I dabbled with app design and it's just a matter of switching it out when I want to use it.

The point is, don't kid yourself that Apple devices are superior. They're not. They're not immune to hacking/ malware & their upgradeability sucks.

Just because it is less common doesn't mean you shouldn't ignore it. The majority of hacks happen on Windows because it has the most users. At the end of the day, if you have all of your files & passwords secure and control what you download as well as update regularly, you will be fine on either system.

Using Windows Since 2000s and i know how much it sucks. What i can do because i have one Kid minded wife who wants to Play games. Otherwise, I never liked this.

With Microsoft, You must pay for a Good Security/Antivirus where with Mac, You can save money in these.

But I am so happy with mac by the way.

Agreed, windows 10 is actually pretty good and definitely secure as hell.

There are tons of exploits available on linux its just not that many people use it so usually more interest in finding bugs for windows. Also many exploits get patched immediately so you dont hear about it as much as with windows.

Windows has a bad reputation from the xp days. But now they copied all the security features from linux, it's actully a solid system these days. Linux/ubuntu has its own problems lets not get started on these

GeforceNow for Mac is a good option to look into if you want to switch to Mac & still have the option for your wife to game.

u gotta be kidding. I was a windows power user for years. The office laptop they gave us at my new job had Linux installed in it. (LinuxMint btw). I am really loving it. So much so I changed my Home PC and private lap's OS to linux.

The only software I miss from Windows is Internet Download Manager.
