Akismet bypassing

Ok, i just made a little experiment. Registered gmail account, and posted a relevant comment to one of my sites using that email. The comment went to "spam", though the url i provided was a whitehat site that by no chance is blacklisted in akismet.
So how did this happen?
Why did akismet spam me?
How do i bypass it when using comment spam tools?

Did you use a public proxy?

I honestly wouldn't bother posting to Wordpress blogs if you are comment spamming. There are many other platforms that are just as effective - and many of them are auto-approve i.e. they have no moderation. And if you really look you will find sites with hardly any outgoing links...

If you include a website it always goes to spam.. at least for me it does

i was thinking: the reason behind akismet requiring api key is to prevent cheating.
Well i think if i get like a gazillion sites, each with different akismet key, then spam them using the same email all the time and then on each site approve the comment, this will probably make akismet whitelist the email address/url?
am i right?

they checked ip addresses

you're right safety101. Askimet flagged the ip address the OP using. That's why his comment goes directly to spam.

I use scrapebox and have noticed my total number of backlinks to my domain have dropped considerably recently. I was banging my head against the wall trying to keep up until I came across a post about Askimet banning sites.

After worrying about this for the last few weeks to find out why last night my manual comments just went to a blank "Done" screen I have now come to realise that my site is obviously banned by Askimet (Stu784 <= Newb learnt something new ).

Anyway I just wanted to ask that if all the proxies Scrapebox scrapes are all on the Askimet spam list?

My ISP gives me a new IP address each time I restart my router (I don't know if this is a rotation of say 10 or 20 IP addresses or if it is a fresh one each and every time) however would I be safe running a Scrapbox blast, restart router, then Scrapbox blast again rather than using the free proxies supplied by SB.

Also I know that you can buy private proxies however won't the same thing happen to these unless you get a different proxy each time you use them?

If you comment on wp blogs with your money site you may sooner or later get banned by akismet. You can delay this by having hundred private proxies and many different comments.

Good solution is to use your money site only on other blog platforms, that are not monitored by akismet. Or have create a strong linkwheel around your site and then only spam the wheel with blog comments. On your money site you can do article marketing, profile backlinks, dir submissions, and other PR backlink strategies.

I am not sure if the scraped sbox proxies are known to akisment but i would think so, as there are hundreds using these proxies for commenting. Also dont underestimate the mechanics akismet may track you down.. you are using automated commenting, your website and ip will show in comments hundreds of times, posted within seconds. You would be a fool to think they dont notice this.

Can you describe what you consider to be a 'Strong Linkwheel' - should I build one for the home page and a linkwheel per category?

Spam the linkwheel with keyword in the name or names only or mix of both, would you also advise putting the keyword in the actual comment?

I know there's no 'bypassing' or 'fooling' Askimet but just trying to stay under the radar and still grab top rankings.

Theres drupal and blogger aswell and with sbox you can now filter out the really high pr links of your competition and manually comment on these.

With strong LW i mean a few high pr web2.0 properties around your moneypage that dont necessarily have to be interlinked with eachother. You can include primary and secondary KW in the title of these if possible. You can use a linkpyramid structure to link up from your longtails towards your main KW from the bottom to top. comment with KW inside or in the title depends on what you are promoting. If its obviously a 'buy this' or 'spam' phrase well dont do it, but instead look around some blogs for good comments of others that are sticking and modify these a bit and spin them so you can use a great variation.

I was thinking of building a Mininet per category on my site targeting the keyword targeted by the category so I would have a top tier of 5 main sites and then for each of these 5 I would create a second tier with a further say 5 more web2.0 sites linking to the top tier. So my link structure per category on my money site would look like this:

Home <=> Category or Page <= (Top Tier x1 <= Second Tier x5) x5 (total of 30 Web2.0 properties per category) <=Scrapebox Blast to all Web2.0 Properties using a mix of main & related keywords

One question I have tried to find an answer to is that when building Blogger or Wordpress blogs or other similar blogs do you build these out to almost mirror your money site with many categories & pages or if your site had 5 categories, for example, would you just build a one page blogger or wordpress site per category similar to squidoo & hubpages so that each and every category has its own individual mininet separate from the next?

Is this a little overkill? If so how many Web2.0 properties do you think I would need/ should use?

It would be information type words not 'buy this' or 'spam phrase' (I'm not sure what you mean by spam phrase??

So is it possible to deselect wordpress (askimet) blogs with scrapebox?

Did you use a proxy that could also be used for scrapebox or some other automation tool. If that was the case, the comment would have been blocked because of the proxy. You can put any URL and it will block it as long as you use that proxy.

I once submitted a URL with a proxy and it went to spam. The next minute, I switched from the paid proxy to my own IP and posted the same URL - comment accepted.

@smithy - you can select a custom footprint, blogengine, moveable type or wordpress blogs to harvest from in scrapebox, so yes you simply choose one of the other options instead, if you do not wish to have wp blogs.
