Yes, along with considering the correct niche, you should also review your competitors. Also I have heard in past few days that March Updates (core update and spam update) made a big impact and pushed for having quality content on the website. It is also expected that next helpful content might target low quality AI generated content because most of the websites have started using chatgpt in blogging and Google's own bard AI has almost failed in competing with chatGPT. So there are fair chances they Google will not give preference to AI generated content that is less informational. Google might try to push forward for quality content that can be generated with AI but is more structured and informational.

In last 2023 reviews update, Google has provided following instruction -

Provide evidence such as visuals, audio, or other links of your own experience with what you are reviewing, to support your expertise and reinforce the authenticity of your review.

Making it clear that only discussing the stuffs about the product is not enough which can be done with AI generated cotnent, and reviewer should show their practical experience and evidences of using that product to get better rankings.

So focusing on content might become more important and the current trend of using AI generated content in website might see downfall if Google decides to not favor it in its ranking algorithm.

You can use AI there is no problem but thec is being dominated by a few youtubers don't get me wrong you can do it but will be hard because when is about thec people already have their trusty source to verify thec info but make your content apealing and you will make, just make sure to check what AI is generating and make sure that makes sense.
