Trying to make some UGC videos but the voices are just terrible. I've got video generation locked down but just having trouble with this part. Eleven labs is not the best either. Everything just sounds like it was recorded in a studio.

Any tips on making the audio sound like it was recorded with an iphone like a normal tiktok?

yeah the studio quality is a dead giveaway for ugc. easiest way is just playing the audio out loud on your computer and recording it with your iphone voice memo app. sounds dumb but it adds the natural room reverb and mic compression instantly. if you want to do it in post just throw a high pass filter on it to cut the low bass and add a tiny bit of room tone or faint background noise. capcut also has some mic effects that degrade the quality enough to look real.

Check out Google AI Studio; it has good voices in different languages.

yeah i think you can try adding light background noise and natural pauses to make the voice sound more like a real phone recording.

the re-recording trick works but it sucks if you are trying to scale. easiest way in post is just throwing a parametric eq on the track. cut everything below 150hz and roll off the highs above 7khz or 8khz to kill that crisp studio condenser mic sound. then overlay a super quiet room tone track at like -35db... some faint AC hum or ceiling fan noise makes it instantly believable.

To get that raw iPhone TikTok feel, export your ElevenLabs audio and degrade the studio quality slightly. Run the file through an EQ filter to cut high/low frequencies, add subtle room reverb, and layer low ambient background noise. Alternatively, play the audio through a speaker and re-record it using your actual phone mic for instant authentic room acoustics. : cool :
