It depends. Whats your reference point? The average bloke? Hmm... I would bet most decent models are much more creative than that.

AI is improving fast, but true creativity is still limited. I agree the future will depend on making AI more original and less predictable.

absolutely false, ai can still get extremely creative when feed with live contents, the way u use it is the main issue here

To be creative there's a unique type of intelligence you need to possess. The kind of intelligence we humans have. You don't even need to be a super smart or even knowledgeable to possess that intelligence. Whether AI would be able to attain that level of intelligence is what I can't say for now.
But the day AI attains such intelligence, then we are doomed because it'll learn to creatively outmaneuver us and our instructions.

No today's AI recreate better without understanding its simply reasoning without knowledge
Data + processing power is right but something is lacking
You got the point, the future AI must be thinking instead of general assist
You are right that's how the programs are designed in real world making with barriers and limitations for better control

May be they are not right now but they will learn it in future.
Like creativity is all about rinse and repeat and I don't think we are more capable of doing this better way than AI with efficiency.

Common, AI has improved a lot, you are probably using an outdated version. But note that, the level of AI creativity solely depends on the intelligence of the prompt you feed it
