Keeping the AI music thread going


This song was created using Suno, but here’s some context.


Between 1995–2006, I was incarcerated at Lompoc Federal Penitentiary. While I was there, I filled up several notebooks with songs and poems. I’ve always fancied myself a songwriter — but out here, it doesn’t work like that.


Even after I got out, I had the books, I had ideas, and I had a few so-called “hookups.” But it was always the same question: “Who have you written for?”
The answer was nobody. And because of that, no shots were given.


On my last day in prison, I almost left all that shit behind. An older dude named Chubb stopped me and said, “Don’t be an idiot. Technology is going to catch up one day. Take those songs, take them poems, take them scripts with you.”


Boom. Here we are.


For Right Here, my process was layered:

• One track: me beatboxing the rhythm
• One track: me humming the melody
• One track: me singing the chorus (terrible voice, clear idea)

Those layers captured what was in my head. I uploaded that into Suno, then added the full lyrics. What came back was the closest I’ve ever heard a song match the original vision.


I’m not giving away the full recipe — everyone has their own way — just giving a feel for the process.

AI didn’t give me creativity.
It just finally gave it a way out.

I dont understand the point of ai generated songs... doesnt it kill the point of music... ? for example. rap is literally about who can write the best verse. so whats the point if ai is doing the writing, rapping and everything else......

Music is boring after 2010 especially rap, same flow and same sh*t get repeated every year, nothing genius no skills nothing new and different. AI will be here to save the music not to destroy it.

90s and early 2000s was best. 2010s didn't have a soul in general. Anyone who disagrees with this, has zero clue about hip hop culture. AI will give better outputs soon than most industry garbage for sure.

You still don't understand me. AI cannot be emotional, it is not human. What I said is: most human outputs were so shitty for years that AI will be even better than them. This is the point. I don't consume most human outputs for years.

Just curious, how does copyrights work with AI generated songs. Can you (prompter) issue strikes to anyone who will use your generated music without permission?
