So don't berate me too savagely - I'm fairly new to this online marketing/SEO/social media working gig.
So heres my thought:
With the amount of SEO and automated tools available online - why not pitch this to offline local businesses? (A bit of skill in sales will help)
For example:
There is a waste removal company in my local area; they have a terrible website, no online presence and untargeted keywords for the website...
Now it would take the initial call to find out where they are currently are at as a business but with the current economy and the likelihood of brick&mortar businesses closing soon - their looks like a potential for increased business.
My proposal (rough draft):
1. Find out how many searches the relevant keywords receive in a localised area
2. Identify competitors and err... market research them to find out how often they get work and compare prices - maybe even contact suppliers/partners of relevant niches - maybe see if there are any gov statistics available
3. Offer a polished up version of what they are currently doing + optimise pricing and awareness and increased online presence (lets says for example - the Manchester county in the UK maybe even get some blogs on their website etc)
4. Offer a no-fee upfront cost and revenue share on increased leads + conversions through a CRM tool
5. Explain potential of scaling up business as it scales to increase more services such as commercial cleanouts for warehouse businesses (for example) and potentially things as storage for higher fees than traditional storage due to the transportation component
Now this is the part I'm unsure of and was wondering if anyone could offer any alternatives/solutions:
1. How do I effectively track the increase of leads through online presence especially if they receive phone calls for a large majority of their work to accurately gauge how much I should be receiving
2.Whats the cheapest way to create a legally binding contract (in the UK)
3. What kind of percentage should I be taking for a company like this? I thought 20% seemed reasonable but its just a completely random and arbitrary number and a process to identify a more accurate figure would help
4. If charging an upfront fee - I understand the value of it but the average Joe is not likely to - so what kind of pitch could I offer here?
This doesn't have to be for this particular industry or business but going through my local directory I identified so so many companies that could benefit from this - some would even be more likely to pay an upfront fee than this particular niche but to then automate it or even middle-man the whole process and secure a deal and then pass it over to someone who is effective and efficient at this process and pocket the difference. Once its se-up and automated all it would need is minimal maintenance.
I have a sales background so I don't really see many pain points there in terms of conveying the value (especially - since its a no-loss offer if its without an upfront fee - am i missing something here?)
I would be interested in any ideas how I could incorporate an upfront fee however I'm fairly new to SEO/online marketing so I'm struggling for ideas to propose it as a win-win situation to the business.
Yay or nay thought? Anything I'm overlooking or missing?
