As many already know, Pinterest tags AI-generated images with a special label.
Have you experienced your pins being downranked because they were made using an AI image generator?

There are ways to hide the origin of an image — but is it really worth the trouble?

Yes, AI-tagged pins can get less reach. Removing metadata or editing images slightly may help, but results vary. Worth testing if traffic matters.
 
I’ve noticed the same issue. Some of my older pins that I created with Canva long before AI even existed are now tagged as “AI-generated.” Even photos I took myself with my iPhone get flagged the same way. So Pinterest’s system doesn’t seem to be working very accurately. From what I’ve seen, removing metadata doesn’t really help either.

I have an image generated by Chat GPT that gets thousands of views and hundreds of saves that is labelled as AI... So i dont think them being labelled AI is really a problem

Yeah, I’ve noticed less reach on AI-generated pins. Not sure if it’s the label or just the algo preferring original content.

They started tagging even lightly edited AI pics, which is annoying.

Isn't there something like agentic AI for Photoshop / Illustrator that'd design graphics and infographics looking like made by humans?
