I’ve been doing SEO for a while, mostly on small sites and a few client projects. I keep seeing people compare these two tools, but I’m curious about what people actually use every day.

My main tasks are keyword research, checking backlinks, and looking at competitor pages. I don’t really need a lot of complex reports. I just want quick data that helps me decide what content to work on.

One of these tools feels stronger for backlink research, while the other seems more like an all-in-one platform with many extra features.

For those who use them regularly, which one do you open the most during the day, and why?

While not everyday, I use Semrush. It's good enough for me but I noticed for a few months now, it's data has become late. It displays ranking data for days/weeks ago. A page might be shown to be receiving traffic meanwhile it's no longer ranking at all.

I use semrush and it is not that good but it is cheap and gets the work done.

Both are really amazing tools that help analyze client competition through deep research.

I currently use SEMrush because the cost is much lower compared to Ahrefs.

SemRush, just got used to it.
The data is correct and competitors can be found easily

You can find Semrush accounts at reasonable prices from sellers :) Datas are correct.

Many SEOs prefer Ahrefs for daily work because it offers strong backlink analysis and quick competitor insights. Semrush is more of an all-in-one platform with additional tools like site audits and content features. If your main focus is keyword research and backlinks, Ahrefs is often the tool people use most.

I personally use Ahrefs more for backlink research. It has a huge database and is more accurate with link data. SEMrush is great for overall SEO analysis and extra features, but I prefer Ahrefs for quick backlink checks.

I mostly stick with ahrefs because the interface is way faster for checking backlinks and competitor content semrush has more features for the price, but it feels clunky when you just want quick data, if your main focus is links and keywords, ahrefs is much easier to use daily.
