ahrefs vs semrush What's your choice and why?

None. My business does not depend on Google or any search engines at all but I might experiment with a new project where SEO will be one of the various methods to generate traffic.

I will just use free tools such as Google keyword planner, Wordstream and other manual ways for keyword research.

Ahrefs is what I use for competition analysis and for that use case it's the best tool out there IMO. Stealing your competitors keywords is a breeze with it.
 
Ahrefs for opportunities, and opportunities equals money. Just imagine, stumbling upon big group of keywords through reverse engineering, in a niche that you had not even thought of. Finding keywords that are quite fresh, have awesome traffic value, and have not been exploited. That's what Ahrefs can do for you. Learn how to use it properly, and boom... the money comes in.
 
Used both of them.

Personally I prefer Ahrefs because it shows the traffic of the linking pages. Though, keyword research with Semrush was more comfortable...
 
I use Semrush because it is more affordable and suits my needs.
 
I prefer SEMRush over Ahrefs but I actually use Ubersuggest over both of them because it's cheaper and they have some cool new features like an AI writer and keyword visualizaton tool. All just depends on what you're using the tools for.
 
It's actually difficult for me to choose one.
Both are my favorites. AHREFs is very helpful for analyzing a website's backlink profile, anchor ratio, and monitoring keyword movement.
Using Semrush, you can gain a better understanding of traffic share and some on-page factors. @wannabegoodatseo
 
Semrush wins for me on everything Keyword research, PPC data, Site audit...

except for backlinks analysis which Ahrefs is better
 
Actually it really depend on the needs. When things come to SMM advertising/keyword research i would stick with semrush while Ahrefs does a great job with backlinking profile. When things come to SEO tool link building i would say non of work than majestic and MOZ . It all about purposes. I use majestic data with my GSA projects as its very affordable and their API quota and 3rd party companies' quota reasonable.

I just use their trust flow / citation to elimitate junk and build good links with gsa. Domcomp is a good tool if you are using gsa for money site link building. IMO its worth than pbn.

BTW its different than what you ask here lol
 
I choose Semrush because I'm comfortable with the price.
