Hi all

I use a free/trial/limited ahrefs account.

Ive just tried signing in today and its asking me to put in payment details for a 14 day trial.

Has ahrefs changed to no longer offer a limited free/trial account and instead only offer a 14 day trial account with a credit card attached?

Thanks

Hej.

Yeah they recently changed it and removed the free accounts.

Yep, they changed the free one. Still pretty decent service if you try for the paid one though. Still worth it IMO.

As far as I understood, you can still have a free/limited account, but you need to sign for the trial. You can cancel it anytime and your account will remain free/limited.

Ahrefs is killing me they got taken off from my group buy and keep making it harder and harder to save a buck with them, i think im going to forget about them all together and only use semrush and majestic
"we had to remove Ahrefs from our website. Ahrefs is a good tool and they also know it. But they are assuming everyone would spend 180 dollars minimum which does not make much sense. They are probably losing customers due to it. Not many can afford it or need it. Majestic also does not support group buys but does not make it so problematic as of now. They increase prices a bit (still a lot lower than Ahrefs) which is reasonable or reduce quotas but they do not kill group buys. Honestly, Moz is the most lenient and it is not surprising that PA DA is the most popular metric out there in the industry though it is nowhere as good as others. Second in popularity comes TF CF which is Majestic. Almost no one cares about Ahrefs DR etc. Ahrefs is an overall tool which is good but then the competition is not too far behind."

@BassTrackerBoats thanks bud! I often forget that this site is as large, with eyes from everywhere all over it :P

@Vladamir I think you're a little off basis on the Ahrefs analysis. It's great for keyword analysis if you're doing keyword research of PROVEN keywords based upon competition. In my opinion, it's the best way to keep your eyes on the enemy.

Obviously though, each have their strengths. The best is to find your own handful of tools to perform specific tasks. Not unlike cars being better for speed, and trucks better for hauling shit.

I think they still provide trial, but you need to register and add your credit card. And don't forget to cancel it before 14 days. Or maybe you can use group buy service to save money!

AHREFs trial is still working like a charm.
Daily making dozens of accounts with little to no problem.
Yes! It won't work without Credit Card or PayPal.
