Ahrefs tracking broken or getting data from unknown sources?

I'm trying to figure out how Ahrefs is calculating the amount of organic traffic a website gets. They seem to be very wrong - which also throws off other stats that are calculated based upon their organic traffic estimation (like the revenue estimate).

• Backlinks: 3.25K

• Organic Traffic: 760K

How the hell is Ahrefs calculating the organic traffic for this domain?

It doesn't have a single page indexed in Google.

NOTE: According to Ahrefs, they calculate traffic based on your current rankings and the search volume for those keywords. But a domain can't rank for any keyword if it's not indexed, so the traffic and revenue estimates should be zero...

If you notice, on December 1 its traffic was 1,6M.
The site lost about half its traffic in 2 days.
My guess is that the site was somehow banned or something from google recently and ahref still shows old data.

I may be wrong though.

Ahrefs also gets their data from undisclosed 3rd party sources and calls it "click stream". Nobody knows where this data comes from, but it probably comes from popular extensions or even some browsers.

Ahrefs estimate traffic by historical rankings, but this data is at least few days old. Maybe page was deindexed in last 48 hours or something?
