Ahrefs reported different amount of backlinks submitted by GSA

Hi, I tried GSA free trials in the past few days to my web 2.0 (wordpress) site for tier 1. I blast my tier 1 with quite strict setting. From GSA report, it submitted about 480 links with 60 of them verified. But when I checked it with ahrefs.com, it found more than 700 backlinks for the same website. I'm wondering where the discrepancy come from. I really appreciate for all your inputs on this matter. Thx

Was it a comment link? Because sometimes the website may have a recent comments widget which shows up on all pages so if that website had 700 pages you will get a backlink from everyone of the pages...

Often 1 link will turn into more because of recent comments widgets, categories archives, tags archives, homepage links, etc. These are in addition to the page where you dropped the link. Think about it - your link is bound to appear on more than 1 part of the website pretty frequently.
