If you are looking to get every SINGLE backlink pointing to a website, unfortunately you never will. All backlink checking tools use different crawling methods, Ahrefs is the most extensive but in saying that Majestic also has it's +'s. By having both tools you will discover more links than only having one of them. If you only choose one i would suggest Ahrefs, as said above it has the most extensive crawling methods/databases. They are both great tools!

I like majestic more, in my opinion they are more detalied then ahrefs, if you are very serious about SEO you should get MOZ, Ahrefs and Majestic.

I like and use them both. If I had to pick one for analyzing backlinks though I'd probably go for ahrefs.

I would suggest go on fiverr and get a majestic group buy and a new moz account.You are done with 10$
Az for ahrefs....it is very expensive and the only thing that i like from it is the keywords cloud.All the rest you can check it with majestic and moz.

I like Ahrefs, easily you can check the difference by checking same url back link structure, Ahrefs have massive link sources compare to moz, magestic SEO

I've used both of them, and it seems to me that ahrefs has a larger database and works faster.

Majestic is just popular with its TF factor whereas ahresf is best for backlinks analysing, keywords density and even know the keyword positions amd much more.

I think both of them are great tools. I prefer ahrefs because it shows way more backlinks than majestic (at least in my case so far) and it has some awesome tools I use quite often...position explorer and content explorer. Nevertheless, Majestic has also some cool features such as link topics and has better in-depth analysis of links when compared with ahrefs. Also, Majestic is cheaper.

Performance wise they are more or less equal. It's just up to what one needs more...
