Ahrefs DR Ratings Are Changing

Straight from Tim Soulo;

I need to get you guys ready for an "Ahrefs Apocalypse"

We've improved the way we calculate DR (Domain Rating) and we're going to release that change within the next 5-10 days.

A lot of sites that now have DR20-50 will drop to nothing. (Mostly because they don't deserve to have this "medium" DR in the first place.)

Attaching a screenshot with a few clearly spammy websites that seem to have nice DR at the moment. And another one of how their DR will look after the change. ( Before / current results above )

As you can tell, with the new calculation it will be harder to trick Ahrefs into thinking that some website has any authority (which will probably upset many shady link sellers).

All in all, this change should make our DR ten times more reliable.

I'm already writing a detailed article for Ahrefs Blog with everything you need to know.

Meanwhile, please make sure you inform your clients that the DR of their sites is about to change, so that it won't shock them

You'd be surprised what some seo gurus / services push onto clients who don't know better. There's muppets out there still refering to PR as being an important factor.

Tbh with this change it looks like it would become a lot more reliable, and I'd trust it more than Trust Flow which can be manipulated way too easily

Ahrefs DR/UR infact, is way more reliable than MOZ DA/PA. Still arguable when compare to TF/CF but it kicks MOZ ass 24/7/365.

Agree. Even if you shouldnt use ahrefs metrics more than as an indicator of something, I believe their fast crawlers makes it a good metric to use for your benefit.

And no, I dont base any final conclusion on just DR. Though, like I said, it is a good indicator.

i own 3 websites with legal and unique content with DR = 44, does this mean my DR will drop ?

My 52 was cut about in half then revised as the new new score back to 52 and crept up to 57 NOW.

Do you sell links? Not sure why a site owner would give a sh!t about DR lol be mindful of what google thinks of you not ahrefs, unless youre trying to sell your site a nd or links
