Hi guys

any experience with ahref and spyglass analysis ??

i was just testing one domain

Ahref shows me 90 backlinks

spyglass shows me 3

Is Ahref reliable source to check backlinks and consider them true??

Ahref is much better, it gives lot more details than spyglass.

Yes, its reliable and almost accurate.

You must be knowing that no tool can analyse all the backlinks of sites.

Aref and Majectic are my favourite ones.

I'd go with ahrefs too. They update the data faster than any other backlink tracker out there IMO.

And i like their graphs

Ahrefs is fantastic. Very quick, and very detailed.

But no tool will give you a 100% representation of your backlinks.

I find MajesticSEO.com to be awesome, their fresh index now updates every few minutes.

Definitely Ahrefs, you can also use majesticseo. But I like ahrefs better :)

Thanks all -- so i am assuming that when spyglass is showing me some other data as compared to ahref -- i should ignore it ...

Personally I am not too crazy about MajesticSEO because in my opinion the reports are not too accurate.

For example on one domain I know for fact that I have at least 900 unique domains for my backlink profile.
The website in question is nearly 4 years old.

MajesticSEO reports that I have 80 unique domains.
(this was not just a qone time check, but checking over the course of several months).

However it is still useful to find competitors backlinks, and grab them for myself.

As everyone else mentioned, ahrefs is much better.

Ahrefs is by far superior to SpyGlass.

It feels like they've really stopped innovative over there. A real shame as I like to have downloaded software solutions.

Not to be captain obvious here, but you weren't using the fresh index were you? Using the historical one, right?

You do have a good point. However I was using the fresh index.

Even testing with the MajesticSEO historical index, I supposedly have 156 domains - which is not the case.

like others said no tool would give you a 100% reliable backlinks profile, in theory your best bet would be to

download your backlinks from google webmasters and put them in an excel sheet
download the backlinks from ahrefs and add them to the sheet
download the links from majestic seo (2 times, fresh index and historic index)
download the links from seomoz opensite explorer and add to the sheet

now remove all duplicates.

Now you will probably have the best backlinks profile money can buy.
But this would cost you quite a bit because you will need accounts with 3 different providers.

If you want to go for only one then I would say is between majestic seo and ahrefs, try both for a month and see for yourself, they are both really good.

Thank you, that is an excellent method.

I will give that a go. It will be interesting to see the results.

Off topic, but have you any idea if and when backlinkwatch.com is actually updated?
I used it a few times during the last 5 months, but the results are always the same (which is nonsense as I build links every single day).

thanks...
i think only ahref and seomoz pro is enough for this... you can extract the raw in both case and do the trick
