AHREF : Still reliable?

Hi All,

When checking my website links using AHREF, I have been noticing my website is loosing a lot of links. The weird thing is that if I go to the lost links area and I click on the "lost" links, I can get into the website, look at the post that is linking to my website and the link is still there!

Anyone with a similar problem?

I've seen some slower updating on ahrefs since about a month or so ago. I don't know what it is but some sites I watch have lost links too for no reason.

Maybe their crawler had a hiccup the past month. Or maybe everyone's blocking it....

Do you have sitemap ?

I created a report using MagesticSEO and it looks completely different from the one at AHREF! Take a look!

You are ranked #1 or #2 in DuckDuckGo.com for your main keywords(mat......).

I don't think you should worry

Ahrefs has inconsistent data. And they keep adding confusing metrics. They do not understand the power of simplicity in their data. And as for data, it is continually changing. I find majesticSEO to be more consistent, if not quite as diverse.

I prefer ahrefs myself, but you may go with some alternative likes:

I don't know if any of you guys experienced this, but when I use ahrefs, my links just won't show up. I see like 200 links added everyday. Few weeks ago everything worked fine. I use the same method, so I really have no clue. I was getting 15-20k links showing up after a few days. Now after 1 week I`m at 4k links. Tried majesticseo and everything looks fine there.

Yeh I have seen the same thing going on in Ahrefs too. It said that my site had lost links from huff post and telegraph so I got scared lol but when I checked the links where still there :/

Yes, it is still reliable as ever. A simple reason is that they do provide commercial services hence basic service must be decent in order to attract clients who are willing to foot the bills for corporate usage. Again, it is my personal opinion but do consider using it, at least for the free service being provided.

Other alternatives are backlink watcher and majestic seo which are direct rivals and offer competitive services too.
