Ahref or KWFinder: Which tool is more reliable about keyword difficulty?

Hello!

I'm using both Ahref and KWFinder to check the difficulty of keywords that I've found but I'm a little bit confused.

While Ahref showing those keywords of mine are from 0 - 2 difficulty score (which is easy to rank) but KWFinder showing 45-55 score for them (which they called possible - not too much easy).

So which tool should I rely on when I want to check difficulty?

They're both good. Ahrefs only goes off of the backlinks to that specific page (doesn't factor in links to the domain).

They did some studies that Ahrefs was the most accurate. But it's not always perfect.

Also, Ahrefs difficulty score shows how hard it is to get into the top 10, not top 1.

Check the SERPs manually and see how the content looks. It's usually pretty easy to know if someone has an SEO targeted campaign around a certain keyword.

Great. Thank you for explaining that to me. I would check more on competitors to decide which keywords should be using.

Kwfinder uses Moz to come up with their score.

Issue is Moz updated their link index and changed how it assigned part for a lot of results. Therefore you had prior easy keywords go to scores around 50 when the serps did not change at all. Lots of YouTube videos in the serps now have a very high part and this increase the score will actually still being an easy keyword to go after.

Thank you so much. I have another question is that when I use moz to analyze competitors. I see some which ranked in the top 2-3 but they are not a root domain. They are only a page of that domain.

And moz show me that the root domain has 300 Refferring Domain(RD) but the page (which ranked) only has 10 Refferring Domain.

So we should look at the page RD or the root domain RD while determining the chance to outrank them?

Links to the specific page are the is important ranking factor.

Links to the domain are very important as well. But you can outrank a site if they don't have any good links to the actual page.

I ise ahref personally
and I think its a bit better or has more accurate metrics

Consider both root and page and analyze the backlinks of them. If your site had RD high compared to them, work on the page and increase your RD's and rank it to the top
 
See, no tool is perfect even Ahrefs is not perfect I believe. But when it comes to being the closest to accurate results, ahrefs is much better than other metrics.
 
I find KW Finder simple, effecttive and free compared to Ahrefs.
