AHREF Keyword Difficulty EXPLAINED...

Do you know anyone who offers kwfinder on blackhatword? I notice you have posted a few links to group buys for tools (i think it is you anyhow).

Also, do you mind elaborating on what kinds of criteria for what is worth going after, opportunities etc?

It would really be useful for me starting out to have a legitimate structure to work from, from someone who clearly knows their shit. (send a pm if you don't wish to share here).

As you can probably imagine, i have read a shit ton on absolutely everything but have no idea what to really trust. from what i researched on keywords it appears ahref has got it to a degree right about the backlinks and their ranking affect, i can manually review onpage factors like h1, content structure etc - BUT i still feel like i am missing something?

Cheers man!

Hi,

I don't use any group buys, people share the accounts so can see what you're working on etc.

As an example using Moz Keyword:

2.9k-4.3k Volume
26 Difficulty
90 Opportunity
74 Potential
Same keyword, using Semrush KD score - 70.94

Ahrefs KD = 3

I left feedback on a Keyword on here, which kind of shows various results all for the same keyword;

https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/zlatanthegod-and-basstrackerboats-amazon-keyword-service.925993/page-2#post-9873902

Well i thought as much BUT do you have actual experience in out ranking huge websites for certain keywords they dont target properly by actually properly targetting a word with onpage seo and backlinks?

I've read about it, but its normally from bloggers trying to sell a product.

I have experience in out ranking a major UK casino for one of their own keywords, and being politely to take my site down

Ok - have read through and its clear you pay attention to how well optimised on page seo they do for that keyword to see whether you can rank and links of course.

I have posted this to you on another thread but might be easier for you to keep it on here.

"What would you regard as doable kd for a domain rating website 25 website (ahref) (domain is like 20 years old and never used for anything than being a cam page for a lady and her dog so has clean backlink profile) which i will be writing mega long articles (3000+) for keywords i am targeting.

Of course, after articles published will be reaching out the relevant industry influencers etc.

But with hypothetically 5 links per article from high authority sites, 3000word articles targeting keywords and their lsi counterparts, and good on page seo what KD scores should i be going after on ahref to start with?

Haha, that's brilliant!

I'm assuming you had a shit ton of links pointing to that page and perfect on page seo to out rank a major site, correct?

Also, can they really make you take the site down if you a ranking for their keyword, i had no idea they can trademark the use of their keyword?!?!?1

No, just an EMD and a piss easy to rank keyword.

The website was an EMD (exact match domain) of one of their offers, but this offer is highly searched the EMD is 240,000 a month.

Could they make me take it down? Well no, but if I refused I'm sure they would have binned me off from their affiliate program, losing me a lot of rev share every month, and then the site being practically worthless without their affiliate program.

240,000 is insane!

I didn't realise it was an affiliate site linked to an offer, so makes complete sense why you took it down.

Are EMD as useful these days in ranking for certain keywords or has their effectiveness been halted by google updates?

Ahrefs have many and many brilliant blog posts about this matter. They have a case study on 3M keywords and to make it clear, the strongest and most important factor was Referring Domains to specific page. I have shared the chart before and it's available on their site.

Now, check any good affiliate keyword, like ->best "product name" for "any function". I assure you the first results will be EMD's with a good portfolio of backlinks ( not a lot ) but covering the articles. They outrank all authority websites out there with their Link Building and Making the whole website about one topic.

So, again, if your website DR is 30 and you are competing with a website of DR 60, but your page has good amount of backlinks from different domains while he is only ranking cuz of his domain weight, you will outrank him.

They are definitely still effective. The original site I just 301ed the domain to a new domain that had fuck all to do with their offer (domain wise) and the site ranked nearly as good.

This was two years or so ago. Things dropped off and went downhill. But recently I just 301ed the original EMD domain to a page on one of my websites, and it is picking up again.

Thanks for your reply!

I've read so many of their posts but i am ALWAYS sceptical of anything written by a company that stands to gain from my following of their opinions.

For example, all of the comments on this thread from ACTUAL people that use seo to make money is worth 100x more than someone who is in around about way always promoting their product (albeit tim does seem to be quite through and accurate).

thanks for that, so you are adamant that topical relevance and backlinks trump domain rating without the former?

Also, in your opinion, what kd should you be targeting to start with that is easily attainable with authoritative and relevevant backlinks with good onpage seo?

Cheers man!

Great advice!

Thanks for explaining everything.

Lastly, in your opinion what kd should you be targeting to start with that is easily attainable with authoritative and relevevant backlinks with good onpage seo? (i'm trying to get everyones view on this)

Cheers man!

You must check the competition manually, but for building a small website with 30 - 50 pages, and rank it using web 2.0 and tier links, I would look at KW less than 25 difficulty.

I have quite a few connections within this industry so would be using links from those authoritative sites.

However, could you elaborate what you mean by web 2.0 links? From what i have read it means links from dynamic websites?

Also, could you quickly elaborate on what you mean by tier links?

Thanks for the metric gauge - i know it is not a science but from looking at their guidelines (ahref) kw difficulty 25 would require around 30 ish good domains liking to your page - what kind of number would i need if i was to use bought links from blackhatworld for example?

You are asking impossible questions. There are too much unknown variables and I will be just fooling you

I realise looking back at that comment how absurd it was to expect anyone to have a certain answer to that haha.

As a general rule of thumb though kd of under 10 is NORMALLY doable with good links, content, and a aged domain?

Correct? (i know you can't be certain, but your opinion woud be helpful)?

kwfinder diff under 10 you can without any backlinks...
if you find some 1k moneykeyword, go for it.
else, reserch top 10 for their backlins

Do you know anyone on this forum that offers kwfinder program?

Also, could you translate to ahref kd - same thing anything under 10 difficulty being fine and if top 10 have links then get theirs?

This one is pretty good because you at least see some basic info when it comes to competition (with Google trends and search volume) and it's not that price heavy.
