Ahh... Email from Nike - HELP PLEASE!!!!

So I was in the rep game a while ago, have since gotten out and am now legitimate on eBay selling quality items. I sold a few Nik shoes on a complete stealth account linked with a stealth PayPal and the last pair would have been about a month and a half or 2 months ago now. Only sold about 4 pairs all up.

Get this email from Nik telling me people complained about goods I was selling and they inspected them and confirmed fake.. and now want $750 by close of business tomorrow or they will go to court.

Do I have anything to worry about? Complete stealth accounts... should I disregard, and stop using that ebay and pp account...??

I would not see them sending an email about this. If it was going to be something from Nike I would think they would send something by certified mail. I could be wrong as I am not a lawyer.

I would also think if the customer on ebay had an issue with an item they would respond back on ebay and do a charge back or something on paypal. I know if I bought something that turned out to be fake I would do a charge back on the payment method and try and contact the seller.

If that did not work I would then take it to the so called manufacturer They would then do research and contact ebay which would then shut your account down and so on.

I agree with SpiderMonkeyATX. Unless you received an actual letter I wouldn't be too worried.

They said in the email they sent a letter to my fake address too.... it's pretty legit, but no customers complained. Perhaps someone from Nike bought a pair??
 
Sounds like a scam. I have had this happen and they send an email saying that I had to stop selling them or I would be taken to court. Where did they say to send the money?

i doubt they would send an email. But then again I got an email from the government stating that I had money waiting for me from 2checkout. They had closed my account about a year or two ago and I still had some money in it and forgot about it. I thought it was a scam until I contacted 2co and they confirmed that was real. So I sent my paper work into the government and got my check. So it's not unheard of.

If they don't have your real email or real address, then I wouldn't worry about it. Or contact them.
 
Sounds fake. Nike just decides to give you 24 hours? A. I believe it'd be more than 24 hours (not a lawyer, but come on 24 hours?). B. If you have a stealth paypal/ebay account, then they probably don't know who you actually are. Hopefully you used a proxy when logging in to it, but I dont you have anything to legitimately worry about.

They must have their bank in the name of Nike (which is illegal) so it might be legit.
 
..and why would they have you send money to Nike's corporate office?
 
I got something similar from Adidas about a year ago. They were asking me to pay 500$ if I don't want them to sue me, bla bla. I never paid and to date I haven't had any problems. There was a thread on google with over 1000 pages of people who have received the exact same later, in the mail + e-mail , most of them were saying don't pay for it, it's not really anything. Their lawyer firm is trying to make money ;)
