Aggregator & blogs dead?

So I wanted to get some opinions.. Since the new google updates have come along do u think aggregators are a waste? Not the kind like digg or about dot come with a lot of duplicate articles I mean in particular aggregators with blogs with original content but also links from different sources. like affbuzz is the affiliate aggregator and instead of duplicate content it just has links back to the original content. But it does use the same titles as the blogg.. Yet it has some original articles. I had an idea for a different kind of niche but have no experience with aggregators myself. I am just doing research at this point. Anyone got aggregators out there? Or any insight would be appreciated too.
