Agency vs. Freelancer (SEO). Which will you choose?

Whoever has good reviews on the marketplace. I prefer an individual over an agency usually. As long as it is not through messages, and cheap packages!

Freelancers are generally more affordable than SEO agencies, but they may not be able to handle all aspects of a project.
So, I choose Both based on project size. But mostly I prefer freelancer bcoz,
Freelancers are working directly with clients & are responsible for finding clients and projects, while agencies assign clients and projects to their team members.

It depends on your needs and budget:
• Agencies are better for bigger businesses or complex projects. They have a full team but cit an be expensive.
• Freelancers are cheaper and good for smaller tasks, but finding a skilled one can take time.
In 2025, many will likely prefer freelancers or small agencies because they are more affordable and offer focused services.

If you have a small project and need to do a specific function, you can get the done by a freelancer , but if it is a medium or large project, it should definitely be done by an agency because your project will need to be updated regularly and servicing will be required, customer support will be required, and for long-term business. there freelancer is no trust for the long term business.

As someone doing SEO on their own, I would say whoever seems to have more expertise & knowledge,
It has nothing to do with the "project size", you can hire an additional team (writers, devs, VAs) to work with someone who knows how to handle stuff,
Agencies would usually do the same and charge for more, everything will be based on their "SEO Guy"

Exactly do the same? Or do agencies usually have more expertise than freelancers because they have a larger team of professionals working for them?

Freelancer obviously. Agency always has a lot in their plates and they might not be able to give much attention to my work.

Nope, in the majority of cases, it's a single person who would handle the SEO stuff, basically moving the parts of the overall puzzle,
You might need more people to handle stuff as setup, development, design, writing, making/editing media, placing proper internal links, etc...
Pretty much for the website off-page links, whenever it comes to building a PBN, outreaching for guest posts (or link placements),
If the head of the SEO team is aiming for the wrong type of links, then everything else could be messed up, it's meaningless
