I have a .co EMD that's been sitting in my account for a couple of years that I'd like to build an authority site on. I'm a little concerned about it, however, as it has 67 backlinks to Live Journal blogs, all as part of a copy and paste post. URL is linked directly to the keyword. The links are nofollow.

I understand not having link diversity is bad, but help a newbie out... are these backlinks going to create problems when I try to rank the new site? Does it make a difference if they're nofollow?

U should have both n0f0ll0w and d0f0ll0w. n0f0ll0w doesn't mean that they're bad, but diversity is king. Start building high pr backlinks and avoid junky spammy backlinks. Boosting high pr backlinks to domain url will increase site authority.

No follow links are not bad as some people think that these links can affect their rankings.Actualy the links that are just spammy or are made all on non popular sites with no or low pagerank affect your site's rankings.Less links made in high PR sites are enough to boost up a site's rankings effectively

Thank you! I know there aren't all that many links there, but still made me nervous. Appreciate the clarity.

66 links is nothing and don't worry making an autority site take time and passion
