Aged Domain

I have a 13 yrs old domain related to educational consultants. Can i use this domain for some other new service as I am not providing any services related to education. This is one of my clients domain. Domain has some back links with anchor text related to educational niche.

Is it good to use this domain for some other new / entirely different niche? Or is it better to go with new domain?

No. don't use irrelevant niche content. better go for a new domain.

If you can bend the domain name to fit your new niche, you can repurpose it without any issues. Common practice.

I agree with repurposing but why not create a new domain while you still monetize with the aged domain?

It all depends on what your new niche are. If you can get your new content someone added so that it is natural then I would suggest trying that.

Then you can always get a new site so you have two sites. It's always better to have two sites to try to rank with then one.

Nope! You might hurt your chances. I had some expired links powered with more than 40k backlinks. Used cars. I've tried to use it for a sex shop. Useless... Google check the structure of the URL to determine if words and KW are correlated subquery.

an aged domain is great when you use relevant content but if you do not have related services then maybe its better to start with a brand new domain that suits your niche or find an aged domain that is relevant to your services.

The age factor is now coupled with other domain factors in the search engine eye. No longer an old domain alone would have a lot of weight in terms of ranking, but if the old domain has SSL, registered for the next 5 years, good user interaction, then all these would definitely add up to the ranking power for that domain.
You can try checking the domain's metrics and see what you can do with it. If it has TF>25 , PA/DA>35, then you can definitely repurpose that for another purpose that you see fit. Otherwise, if you are looking at something short term, use it to sell some links, and then leave the domain to expire in the process.
