Aged domain tier 1 sites

How many tier 1 links pointing to your money site from an aged domain is too many nowdays? And im guessing that linking to multiple articles/pages on your money site might help things look a bit more natural than 20 anchors to your home page?

I know emd don't mean much anymore but I'm trying to figure out what to do with all my existing ones.
