Aged 301 Redirect Google Love

Hi guys,

I have a quick question...

I bought an aged domain which was still indexed. I added a couple of 1000 word posts, waited for them to be indexed and then I did a 301 to my new domain to pass over the age.

I went into google today and typed in 'site:olddomainI301 . com' and there is nothing there so I assumed it has been deindexed. Is this natural after you 301 a domain?

He's just spamming the forum... there's a thanks button, but no, he's spamming.

Yes your old domain should be removed from the index. It's not quite the same as deindexing, you told Google you moved the site. Since penguin some 301s have been acting unpredictably, but I thinking everything's back to normal now.
 
Your domain is not deindexed , try this

info:your301domain.com

Is this returning the site to which you have 301 this?
 
Before you redirect, you should had made your url out of google index in order to get the proper out come from you redirected site.
Before doing anything try to have a good idea on that matter so that you know exactly what you are trying to do.
 
It's normal that the original website get removed from the index, now like stated above, do "info:" to see if the 301 have passed.
