Maybe I just dug up old info first when I started looking, but I read a lot of posts saying to follow 900 or so people a day to start... and I did... with brand new accounts. So far no issues.

I'm reading now, though, much more specific limits depending on age of account.

Does it just take a while to get banned? I've followed, unfollowed, and gotten up to around 75 followers per day. Should I scrap these? Is the ban hammer headed my way?

Usually the older the account the more you can push it. I'd say keep going and see what happens OP I'm curious to see when you'll get suspended.

Me too, frankly, but while it was just a little experiment to start, I'm looking to upgrade to fully private proxies and put 5 accts per and crank up ASAP, and I'd really strongly prefer not to head down a path that will get all of them shut down a month from now, so really hoping to dial in some specifics. I would love to learn that I can do as I have been. I was surprised how easy it was to get 50+ actual targeted followers (verified as 97% real in audit) per acct... just want to make sure I'm not wasting time and energy.

I see a lot of general consensus about aged being better, but very little actual detail on the matter. For right now, the practical question is whether I should create 50 new accts or go with pre-aged... and then where to set the limits from there. Anyone got actual current stats on any of these q's?

I think that if following to follower ration is 3:1 & u make abt 100 follow every day & get 20 followers in retunn then its gud i think..... Using followliker..... This is easy to achieve

OK. Great... but what are those numbers based on? Guesses? Reading other people's guesses? Split tests? Having been banned personally? And for what age accounts?

I don't mean to stifle any input. Far from it, but since the info on this topic seems to be mainly based on guesses and recirculated opinions, I just want to get as specific as possible... especially since others say ratio doesn't matter, 2k is hard limit, and can do 900/day once past that threshold. There's a world of difference between the two, so zeroing in on actual case histories of (recent) bans or similar seems like only way to get real numbers.

Others say it's the UNfollows that get you. A lot of people say a lot of things. Who has gotten banned recently and why... or who has some other source of insight I didn't think to ask about?

I would think the makers of the major bots should know as they can see many cases recently.

The only hard numbers I've been able to glean so far are:

1) Follow < 1k/day
2) Once you follow over 2k total, follow < 110% of number following you
3) DM < 250/day

I have read a lot of opinions scattered about relating to unfollowing, and safe numbers under 1k per day depending on age, but figured that the folks on here were the most likely to have actual first hand experience zeroing in on those numbers.

In my personal experience these numbers are a little too high.
I manage dozens of accounts, never been banned, just countless temporary suspensions some months ago.
I'll try to be more specific.

1) Follow < 1k/day

If your account is very old and active, I wil go to 800/day but NOT every day. This is what I'm doing with my four years old personal account and this is what I see others are doing. Same thing for the UNfollowing. You can UNfollow much more than 1k, but do not repeat every day. Do it once a week, it's more useful.

2) Once you follow over 2k total, follow < 110% of number following you

If you do the follow/unfollow procedure correctly, you should definetly have a better ratio. Let's say you will follow 70/80 people while 100 are following you. (1500 following and 2000 followers) This will look more natural.

3) DM < 250/day

IMHO better not push too much in that direction. DMs are overestimated. Sooner or later some user will block/report you, and that is the fastest way to be banned.

But most of all, rules tend to change now and then.
Hope this will help your research, I will be very interested in your conclusions.
Regards,
Max

Thx. Great input. That's the kind of real world dialing in I'm looking for. Interesting that you've never been banned.

I'm not doing any of this stuff with my main account anyway, so it's not the end of the world if it goes wrong... just wasted time.

As for the DM's, I'm not really planning on mass spamming. More thinking about a thx for following note with a link included, and a very occasional and very targeted "Hey, I'm a fan of X too, just thought you might like Y. Have a great day."... maybe not even that.

I'm looking if possible to get it all rolling today, so can you be more specific about the age issue? I'm starting off with 50 accts. Should I just buy them aged and not bother with new accts?

The only thing that I can say about older accounts is that they seem to follow different rules. I mean very old ones.
My older ones are from 2011. They can do almost anything and nobody cares. Like mass follow/unfollow etc.
Newer ones (2013/14) must play strictly by the rules and it makes no difference how old they are.

About starting from scratch with 50 accounts: my advice is to use 10 for experiments, so you can explore all the little tricks you need to make things work. And leave the others to grow organicaly.
Build them on your own, you will learn much faster.

Good luck!

I'm doing combination anyway... handcrafted personas, combo of handwritten tweets, etc. I've got two I'm doing fully by hand in the meantime as well so i can learn where the issues are by doing it manually too.

Good to know about age diff.
