Wasn't it against the rules to post profiles/links on here not too long ago? I just so happen to login and see 3 posts that included facebook profiles, instagram profiles, and a couple links to landing pages, all asking how they did this or that.

Obviously these posters are here to be social, I get it, but I think it's way out of line. If it's not a rule, it should be.

Well to sort out problems we often have to see the site in question, self promotion isn't allowed for obvious reasons but putting a link when a member has a genuine problem is ok.

I don't think it was against the rules but it was always frowned upon and users were requested not to do it.
Unfortunately there are so many new noob accounts it is a struggle to keep enforcing it and they don't understand or don't care why, so they keep doing it.

How would you feel if the site/page in question was yours, for a forum this big to see?

You should question a site/page like that and come up with ideas, it's what we all do, or should do. Keep it tight knit though and I bet you will better off.

What are you on about?

What are you on about?

When people post links to sites/profiles they don't own, we should discourage them because it brings attention to those sites/accounts.
Sites shouldn't be shared publicly only privately otherwise people's hard work gets flushed down the toilet.
Noobs want to know how somebody is ranking via blackhat so they post the site, and obviously Google or whoever has just had the hard work done for them, they can just go in and penalise the site.

You have better words than me, thanks.

Not only that though, there are people with resources lurking on these forums who can destroy someones method in a day.

I agree but when someone creates that kind of thread they should include as much relevant information on the site as they can but leave the link out. If it's needed for an accurate answer, PM it. Instead, people just throw a link up and ask "how he do eet" without doing any research themselves.

You cannot sell anything without a sales thread. It is the core rule.
Otherwise you are okay

Np, great response time though.

Just being funny.. Had a few

Seems to be some confusion as to what I meant, I was talking about a link to a site with a problem that needed sorting, not referring to Facebook profile links

Seems like more confusion than you think.
