Hi! My webshop received more than 300,000 image links from irrelevant foreign websites in the last 3 months. I submitted these in a disavow file. After 3 days, my traffic dropped significantly. Can disavow have such a quick effect or could it be an algorithm update?

Thanks for the help!

This must be due to the impact of disavow links.

You should not disavow too many backinks in a single go rather you should keep on disavowing some thousand links at a time and see the impact.
Based on that take further steps

Thanks for the answer. What do you think what would be the best next step? Should I delete the list and leave it all, or delete it and upload a new one with less links? Maybe with the list of spam domains with the lowest traffic and lowest DA?

Yes, I would suggest to update the list with less number of links and keep on uploading based on results.
Also, check the search queries in GSC and make sure you only upload spam links in disavow which will not impact rankings and traffic.

Rejecting a large number of links can have a rapid effect on your rankings. We could not find the exact reason for the decline. Have you received any warning messages from Webmaster Tools? Otherwise, there is no problem with those links and you can leave them as they are. The second thought might be affected by Google Updates. So you need to know if any Google updates are released at that time.

I think it's due to the algorithm update. When you upload the links for disavow it will take some time mostly. Three days seems to be quick. So, wait for some time and decide.

This is easy done when you disavow links it only takes a few wrong decisions to land yourself in this position. Really should try and do these in smaller batches as some of them could have still actually been helping you.

You could try deleting it and see how you get on then slowly add them back in. It is always hard to nail down exact cause from loss in rankings as Google could have found any number of things they are unhappy with or could have changed the algo which has then had an impact.

I think it is due to the Google update because disowe file effect will not be measure in three days only.
