I caught this over at site point this morning:

    http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/auction/21182

Can any of the members here from the forum vouch for the listing notes? I've always gotten along with Shane but would like to here from the people who actually participated within the service that did not own. For it being so new I dont think it will fetch $50K and with purchasing the Direct Track package for my own network, I dont think I could justify such a purchase at that the BIN. However the minimum bid is only $10K. Would love to hear from anyone that used it though. Thanks.

He stole a product of mine and sold it. And promised a percentage as i allowed him to do so, then he fucked me over, anyways hes banned for other things also, so if you buy anything from him, your being ripped of as most is a lie.

Anyway he will see me pretty soon in court. And i look forward to him recieving my letter

    Ok,

Let's keep this from turning into a war. Did anyone actually use the service and if so, how smooth did transactions and payments all that good jive from a site like this go?

I used Affiliate Trades successfully, but one flaw I had a problem with was the small number of members, which meant severely limited income potential, although the system is solid.

Another problem is poor visual design; although it was effective, I'm a big supporter of 'Design for the Mind' -- not enough eyecandy. :p

I honestly don't think it's worth anywhere in the $xx,000's yet, although if the site were larger and more productive, then I could see it..

Probably why this site just started up:

I was part of AffiliateTrades, and like the post above me mentioned... It did not have enough Eye-Candy. It was not appealing at all. Even though I made some Great CPA Cash from it, they needed more members.

Probably if it looked like that new one, it would be a lot more successful.

I just joined up for this new one I just found, and it looks great. Looks like it just opened up a few days ago, and in a few days (1.5 I think) it is going from a free site, to a paid site.

All the more reason I joined up now, because the people that join before the time it goes paid, you stay a free member!

    lol....

I checked it out, and these CPA trading sites are a cool concept, but I have to say I'm shocked that he's trying to dump it so quick, maybe he needs to the money to fight HaRRo in court :)

Anyway, it's a points system, people offer a certain amount of points for doing an offer, couple points for an email submit, 20 or more for a full page loan form.

There's not enough members to earn enough points to promote your own offers for long. I made about $120 my first couple of days but quickly ran out of points and couldn't find enough offers to keep the points rolling in.

I just think it's way to young to sell because it's way to easy to duplicate. Anyone who's a member of a few forums can get a few hundred members to join their own site. The software is easy to get for something like that, and the site itself is not very flashy, which is fine, but buyers like pretty.

They haven't installed the ability to purchase points yet, but I have to imagine they will as that is what would make the site profitable for the owner. That should also help to add many more offers because from what I can see, members would rather pay a few bucks for points and make back $80 $100 bucks than sit there and do offers for points which takes up time.

I should also add, that a site like this (if I ran it :) ) would do way more than 50k in revenue it's first few months so even if he gets full asking price I see it as a loss.

......Or maybe he's using Site Point to introduce his site to thousands of internet marketers who will see the listing ;)

I agree with 777 that it's no where near worth $xx,000's yet. This is purely because of the lack of participation there. If it were to grow it's member base then it could possibly be worth up to the price stated, but until then I'd say no more then $5000.

Thanks for the replies. I didnt think it was worth even the minimum. I did join it and have a look around just wanted some info on how it ran and such. Never had a problem with the guy so I guess I will wish well on the sale.

Bad stuff to hear Harro. Those things are never pretty. I've managed to settle out of court both times thank god.

The point system that is at the base of the website lacks several key features that could make it sustainable and a money making machine in the long term.
I am not gonna spill them in public, cause i may create a better version myself, lol.

@Nick: When u get that creation up and running, be sure to let me know. I'd be VERY interested in it.

I think the concept of both AT and CPAEx are worthy of continual development, progressive change, though I think there are quite a few things that will hamper it in long-term sustainability (the usage of the pts system, and also some operational weaknesses).

Well, this is 2008, so these things can only get better.

CPAEx is cpa exchange, in general.

If you do not mind me asking, where does AT brings a solid income everyday from?
The reasons listed at sitepoint seemed pretty slim to me. You said you are making money by introducing points in the system and people filling in your own offers, but the question is that points can not be introduced in the system without a way to get them out of the system. This means either you have to complete those offers, or buy the points, or put commission on points listing or something like that.
Advertising option? Highly doubt that at the moment.
Requesting money from members from joining? Seems to me that the ones who really make money using these method are those who sell invite/or give away for free. Anyway , this can be changed pretty soon, no doubt.

Anyway, good luck, hopefully the new script will be better, looking forward to it.
