    Hello,

I'm relatively new to IM, and decided to start out with misspellings of companies with an affiliate redirect, so someone googles the wrong thing and they click on my site and I get an affiliate link if they purchase.

There isn't much competition as there aren't many searches for a misspelling, but how can I get this result as #1 on google? I have ridiculously keyword rich content, made a couple bookmarks, pinged the website, submitted a sitemap and asked google to crawl - what else can I do? I really want this keyword as #1 because if I am not noone will click on my website and get redirected with my affiliate link.

How long do you think it'll take? I really appreciate the help. Thanks so much!

The only problem with your idea is that a top of first result google will suggest the correction word, which in most cases users click on, so I dont believe you will get much traffic from this

Yes, but I choose keywords that don't have automatic redirection to the correct keyword, so I have a better chance than if that page was automatically redirected. I'd make the redirect side look legitimate, so hopefully it will prompt the customer to click on it. I see where your coming from though. Thank you for your input.

Hmm.. I think you may be able to just use a redirect.

For example, if a person goes to your url by accident, you should be able to set up it to where it automatically redirects the user to your affiliate link. For example, if they mistype the url and get to urs, then they'll get redirected to your affiliate link (which should open up the original site anyway, except you now have that referral)

Exactly! That's what I'm doing. But I am trying to rely on traffic from google, not directly from misspellings in the URL. If I target low keywords with 50-100 global searches, I can get maybe 5 commissions - not too shabby. But the SEO is killing me - unless I'm first I'm going nowhere. Any advice on SEO? It shouldn't be too hard because of such a low competition but then again even with a direct domain and rich keywords, it is a new site that doesn't have too much content. The hardest part is getting it #1.

So what you're trying to do is just rank it, but when visitors click on your link in the SERPs, they'll get redirected to the real site via your aff link?

If so, that wouldn't be hard. Just rank your site how you would with anything else. I just think that you'd want to have the same exact information displayed in the SERPs as the original site.

Yes that's what I'm doing. I got the site ranked, but its 3rd page on a really low competition keyword. Any ideas on getting it furhter up? Thanks!
