If you're looking for platforms to join along with SharaSale, you can try Commission Junction, LinkShare which is Rakuten and you could look into various affiliate networks as stated. Most affiliate networks do not even require a phone call. Just a brief chat via email or Skype along with detailed information in your application usually is enough to get some tests going. For about 90% affiliate networks out there, a website isn't even needed. Make sure to explain your strategies whether that be social, media buying, email, ppc, or incent etc

Yeah now I see that Clickbank has a wide variety of offers, not just scam books.

Share A Sale is also great and easy to work with, for most programs you just fill in the form and get approved automatically.

Or not... I found an offer via google, connected to Clickbank, having nothing to do with any books or anything similar, but when I search the Clickbank, it's all just books, guides etc.

I've applied for hundreds of affiliate programs over the years and the only ones that ever gave me any bother (although I always got accepted in the end) were CPA programs. Other than that sites like Clickbank, Commission Junction, Shareasale, Amazon etc. are all dead easy to join.
