affiliate marketing multiple products?

Hi all, Im new to all of this just recently started a free blog on word press to just help with writing skills and always wanted to just have a blog. I was randomly blog on various topics but just found something that I wanted to blog about. I listen to podcast that interview people on entrepreneurial topics, innovations in life etc and I make a cheat sheet per say for people who may be too lazy to listen to the entire thing and just need the key parts. I also give my 2 cents on the topic at hand, I have received kudos and well wishes from some of the said interviewers and interviewees thanking me for my posts.
Although I am not well versed in affiliate marketing or adsense etc, but I was wondering about the following if I decide to move from free to a hosted blog.

Most of the people in these podcasts that i blog about have either books or products on sale on amazon, is it possible to affiliate market their products per blog post? or am I totally wrong on how this thing works?

Go to amazon, scroll down to the bottom, click on "amazon affiliates" or something like that... Create an affiliate account. After that you'll be able to get a link for ANY product listed on amazon (can be just a link that you'll insert in your post, can be the picture of the product). If you have regular visitors coming to your site aka traffic, and the products you're promoting are something that people want, shouldn't be too hard for you to make at least some moneyz. Good luck!
