Affiliate Disclaimer

A quick question to you affiliate gurus!

Is a disclaimer in regards to affiliation links something mandatory to put on my website? I mean I know it is, but have you had any troubles by not using it?

I am one that do not click an affiliate links and go to the direct source if possible to avoid unwanted cookies, and so on..

I just feel it wont bring me any new businesses but the contrary.

PD: If you have any secret script you use that make your visitors " Ok, lets click it and help this guy" plz share!

I don't know whether it's mandatory but I always put this text in footer for the safer side.

"This site contains affiliate links to products. We may receive a commission for purchases made through these links."

You may be in trouble not putting it on your website if you use affiliate links. A simple single-line text should be an issue at all.

I don't see a reason not to put it. If you provide content - no one would have an issue with clicking on your affiliate link.

Yes you must display affiliate disclaimer on all pages where you promote amazon products. It should be visible you can't hide it somewhere. It should be on a prominent place on the website or post.
Many big players place the affiliate disclaimer under the header on all pages. If not you can just put a small notice block on the post.

On Amazon website it states

It should be placed near any affiliate link or product review in a location that customers will notice easily. They shouldn't have to hunt for it.

You can run the website without the disclosure until Amazon do some manual review on your website.

Two things.

First if not all affiliate networks require that you have an affiliate disclaimer. You may not get caught at first but if you get selected for an audit you could ruin all your earnings.

Second, many countries require that you disclose if you are getting a commission from a particular action.

Just add it in your footer or something. Not doing it takes more effort than doing it.
