Hello,

I may have an AdWords contract coming up with a guy who spends more than $10k monthly, and because SEO is all I've been working with until now, I'm looking for some courses to increase my knowledge with it and be able to sound more professional if I get to talk on the phone about it.

I've found this course on Udemy which is praised quite a lot, but knowing Udemy and their shitton of courses on about every subject imaginable I wanted to ask your advice first before diving into it.

So, what do you guys think ? Can I find better ? Is even following a course like that worth it, or is it better to read a few good articles, take notes, jump into it and learn by myself ?

Thanks for your insights.

latter option seems good. Just take a basic course for knowing the platform inside-out and some little neat tricks - other than that. Every campaign is different.

I'd suggest Perry Marshal's adwords course - don't buy it. some google search should be enough.

I'll look into it, thank you :)

The only way you will be learning it is by doing. Also by doing - you can easily get your adwords profile banned.Sit down, read, watch videos and make some campaigns. At the beginning i would not finish the campaign,at least on the last step, when you create the ads, stop and cancel.
There is a lot to learn about adwords,i would suggest to get help from somebody who did it before and have time to sit with you and help you out.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try to find someone to kinda "babysit" me through it then haha.

Mind you, I didn't upload it there, I just found it, but it's the real thing, and it appears to be virus free: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file...0138d386534e8cff3586e39b938fb934a06/detection

If I were to start learning AdWords, I would start by taking the Google Academy for Ads lessons, and then, when you know the basics, I'd read Perry Marshall's Adwords Guide.

@sobolanu These two resources here beat any Udemy course you can find, but they take a lot of work...

What video course are you talking about please ?

or you can learn yourself if you go over youtube and watch some adwords tutorial videos

I don't know about this particular course (vague on details) but you need to start somewhere and I guess this is as good as any.

You'll find PPC much different than SEO so some advice. PPC is about marketing and advertising. In my view, SEO should be too but few SEO people I know take that approach or even have a marketing mentality which is a shame.

Read up on marketing techniques. Lots of books and courses around for that. That will help you create great ads. What's mostly left after that is keyword targeting and that should be easy but many screw it up.

Actually create a campaign of your own with your own money. It's amazing how fast you learn from mistakes when you have money on the line. Before you do, read the policies. Know them, understand them. The worst thing that can happen is a problem with a client account due to your fault because you didn't know the policies.

Never stop learning (and you will by default) if you are serious about doing PPC. I've been doing this for 17 years and I'm still learning new things. There's different things about PPC, it's not just search. There's display campaigns, remarketing, shopping and many others and each is different. If you are not willing to learn and adapt, it's not for you.

I've got some books including Marshall's and Dummies and courses over the years. Good starts but none get to the core of what is important and that's how to market.

I just remembered too there is a conference next week (April 23-24) called PPC Hero that can help. It's just for PPC professionals. If you can pay the $1500 fee and get to Philadelphia by that time, you could really learn a lot in very short time.

I don't think this one course will make you sound more professional, you need experience. Good luck getting the contract.

It's what almost 12$

I think just buy it and start going through the course. You will definitely learn something. I will be buying the same course soon.

Check this one out before buying anything ;)

In my personal opinion, it is not worth it. Learning the Google Ads platform is not difficult. Success using Google Ads mainly depends on being smart, having a good business sense, identifying the most ideal audience, experimenting with things (A/B testing types).
For example creating a really great ad text with an awesome call-to-action : That depends NOT on Google Ads platform, that depends on your ideas, creativity and understanding "personas". So, there are lots of aspects apart from good knowledge of the Google Ads platform, that are important and no courses teach or can teach : these come from within (e.g. being creative)

Making google ads is not a big deal u can learn it from youtube easily need to know about the right stuffs at right time
that's it .. sometimes it works fine sometimes doesn't it's for all not specific person on platform.

I have the course and it's really good for beginners. For sure it's well worth 12$.
The bad thing is that was recorded with the previous adwords interface. Something changed. But personally I would suggest you to go buy it. If you don't have a degree in marketing you probably won't learn the things he teach you by trial and error only.

Adwords take time to master. But with hard work and diligence you will get there, it may be one of the best decisions you take
